Terms & conditions

These terms govern your use of Trade Request, operated by Trade Request Ltd. By using the site you accept them.

1. What we do and what we do not do

We are an introduction service. We put homeowners in touch with tradespeople. We are not a party to any agreement you reach with a tradesperson, we do not carry out the work, and we do not supervise it. Any contract for the work itself is between you and the tradesperson.

2. Using the site as a homeowner

  • Posting a job is free.
  • You must give accurate details and have authority to arrange work at the property.
  • You are under no obligation to hire anyone who contacts you.
  • We limit how many tradespeople can take on each job. The current limit is shown when you post.

3. Using the site as a tradesperson

  • You must hold the qualifications, registrations and insurance you claim to hold.
  • Gas work must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer.
  • Credits are used to access customer contact details and are non-transferable.
  • You must not post jobs as a customer, contact customers about anything other than the job they posted, or pass their details to anyone else.

4. Credits, payments and refunds

  • Credits are purchased in advance and priced per lead at the rate shown before you unlock it.
  • Credits have no cash value and are not exchangeable for money.
  • Where a lead is genuinely faulty (an unobtainable number, a customer who never requested the work, a duplicate, or the wrong category) you may report it and we will review it. Approved reports are refunded in credits.
  • The lead reporting window is set out in your dashboard.

5. Reviews

Reviews may only be left by customers who engaged a tradesperson through the platform. Anonymous reviews are not permitted. We may remove reviews that are defamatory, contain personal data, or are demonstrably not from a genuine customer.

6. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, submits false information, or behaves abusively toward another user.

7. Liability

We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our liability relating to your use of the site is limited as set out in this clause.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
