Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Trade Request Ltd collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and what rights you have under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Trade Request Ltd is the data controller. Company number 00000000, registered in England and Wales. You can contact us at support@traderequest.co.uk.
2. What we collect
- If you post a job: your name, email address, phone number, postcode, the details of the work you need doing and any photographs you upload.
- If you register as a tradesperson: your business details, address, contact details, company registration number, insurance details, qualifications and accreditations, and any documents you upload to evidence them.
- Automatically: a one-way hash of your IP address and browser, used solely to detect duplicate and fraudulent submissions. We do not store raw IP addresses.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To pass your job to suitable tradespeople: performance of a contract. This is the core purpose of the service and the reason you gave us the details.
- To verify tradespeople: legitimate interests, in keeping the network safe for homeowners.
- To prevent fraud and spam: legitimate interests.
- To send marketing: consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Who we share it with
Your contact details are shared only with the limited number of tradespeople who take on your job. They are never published, never sold and never shared with anyone else for marketing.
We also use these processors, each under a data processing agreement:
- Our hosting and database providers
- Our transactional email provider
- Our file storage provider, for job photographs and documents
- Our payment provider, for tradesperson payments only
5. How long we keep it
Job details and contact information are retained for the period set out here, after which they are deleted or anonymised. Financial records are kept for six years to meet HMRC requirements.
6. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data erased
- Restrict or object to how we use it
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for marketing at any time

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
